• Who is IDEA Nepal?

  Interior Designers Association of Nepal (IDEA Nepal) is a legitimate umbrella organization of Interior Designers in Nepal. We support design professionals, industry affiliates, educators, students, firms and their clients through our network of 2,500+ members across Nepal. We advocate for advancements in education, design excellence, legislation, leadership, accreditation, and community outreach to increase the value and understanding of Interior Design as a profession that enhances business value and positively impacts the health and well-being of people’s lives every day.

• What type of Memberships does IDEA Nepal have?

  IDEA Nepal offers two membership categories: General Member and Lifetime Member. General Membership is open to interior designers who have completed a recognized Diploma or Bachelor’s degree/certificate. Lifetime Membership is available to General Members who have completed at least 10 years since passing their qualifying course. • What are the requirements to become a certified designer?

  Applicants need a recognized Interior Design Diploma or Bachelor’s degree/certificate, a completed Membership Form, and supporting documents (CV and Citizenship Certificate copy), along with payment of the applicable membership fee. Once approved, IDEA Nepal issues a membership number certifying them as a member.

• When was IDEA Nepal established and is it officially registered?

  IDEA Nepal was founded on 1 Mangsir 2060 B.S. (17 November 2003). It is registered as a non-government organization with the Lalitpur District Office, registration no. 66/060/61, and with the Lalitpur Metropolitan Office, registration no. 1128/31 Tha, registered on 12 July 2019.

• How can I become a member of IDEA Nepal?

  Interested designers can download the official Membership Form from the Downloads section of the site and submit it with the required details. Once reviewed, approved members are added under either the General Members or Lifetime Members list, depending on the category.

• What is the vision and mission of IDEA Nepal?

  The vision is to bring all of Nepal’s interior designers together under one organization and to be recognized as a respected professional body and active partner to government and society. The mission centers on developing designers’ skills, protecting their professional interests, and contributing to nation building through the field.

• Does IDEA Nepal organize events, awards, or training for its members?

  Yes. IDEA Nepal holds Annual General Meetings, runs the IDEA Excellence Award to recognize outstanding interior design work, and coordinates with provincial committees and official partners to support members’ growth and visibility.
